本の趣旨：

15章立てで、生まれ育った1980～90年代のインド、インドの社会と教育、1990年代後半に国費留学生として体験した日本、インドに戻って日系企業で働いた経験と人生最大の学び、2003年に社会人として来日しIT企業・日系銀行での勤務経験、住んでいる地域とのつながりと様々な社会問題、日本で起業をした経験、江戸川区議会議員としての想いと経験、多文化共生の「自助・共助・公助」について執筆しました。

本を書いた理由：

約10年前から難関大学を含め日本の50ぐらいの大学で継続的に社会学の講義を行っています。また、様々なところで多文化共生について講演も行っています。その中で分かったのは、「移民とこれからの日本や日本人」について総合的な参考書がないことです。大学生、大学院生どころか、博士課程で移民に関して研究される方も移民や移民の地域住民の諸々について正しい情報を持っていないことが分かりました。よって、そのギャップを埋めたくて、この本を書くことにしました。現実だけ書くとつまらないので、自分の物語を中心にしてリアリティーを持たせました。

対象者：

少子高齢化が進み、移民が益々増える日本です。隣に外国人が引っ越して来る、学校や大学で隣のベンチに外国人がいる、職場で外国人と働くことになる、そのような場面はいつ現実になってもおかしくないです。よって、学生から大人まで国籍問わず、誰もが参考になる本になっていると思います。どこの国でも移民は似たような課題を抱えています。よって、海外の方も対象になると思います。インドの社会やインドの哲学を日常の中から知ることもできると思います。

This book explores the experiences of immigrants and the challenges they face in integrating into local societies. Due to low birth rates and aging societies, countries like Japan need immigrants. However, the acceptance of immigrants in society, workplaces, schools, or hospitals is not smooth. This book will help readers understand the real issues and ways to approach and address these issues.

I have used my own story as the central theme to bring a sense of realness. The book paints the India of the 1980s, the society, the culture, and the education, and paints the society in Japan with the hardships of life for an immigrant in Japan. 

For the Japanese, this book will offer hints to learn more about the foreigners living in Japan and think about the future of Japan. For foreigners, this book will offer realistic insights about Japan that have never been written before. English version to follow soon.
